The season of bright and bold colors is over. For me fall is mostly about earth tones and proper coordination of those. Someone might call it boring. I call it subtle elegance.

Today’s post is a business casual combination in earth tones, which might also be applicable as office wear, depending on the company. The combination is coordinated in khaki and brown tones. To me this combination is all about how to elevate the look by using proper details and more dominant, masculine cuts, while keeping the colors subtle.

This outfit was built around this double-breasted sports coat, which is quite a statement piece. With wide peak lapels and a bit defined shoulders (I usually wear soft Neapolitan style), it gives strong and masculine presence. Made of Angelico fabric, it has a wonderfully soft texture. The sports coat is from the past SuitSupply’s collections, model Madison. It is a pity that the company does not produce those kind of models anymore. I really like the cut, fabric and the silhouette of this piece. As you can see from the pictures below, one other detail I would like to highlight here is how I wear the double-breasted jacket. I like to button the last button only leaving the middle one open. There are various opinions if this is right or wrong thing to do. I personally like it a lot, because it is a bit different as usual and it gives the nice visual roll for the lapel.

Similar to the jacket I opted for a statement piece in trousers as well. My choice here are the pants from luxire.com, which I already featured in the recent post here. Those pants seem like a perfect match to the jacket. Khaki is a good color match to the beige tone of the jacket. Then, details like double pleats, side adjusters and strong cuff give very nice sartorial look and making quite a masculine statement. The pants itself are luxire’s trial model (which is a great option they offer in order to get the fitting right), and turned out to fit nicely and are now among one of my favorites pairs.

As for rest of the outfit, I matched the sports coat with simple white shirt (seemed like the most logical possibility) and camo tie from Limerius. What I like about this tie is its zigzag pattern, bringing some pattern to the whole outfit, and the color. Having some elements both of khaki and beige it seemed like a perfect match to those two garments. Other element worth mentioning about the tie is its fabric. It is a mixture of wool and cashmere, which is a very nice mix indeed. Cashmere gives very pleasant soft feel to the tie and the wool is great to bring autumn feel.

My choice of footwear here are double monks in dark brown suede. In my opinion, double monks are a great choice for business casual combinations. In those specifically suede gives additional casual touch.

Summarizing, in fall for my outfits I rather try to go with subtle tones and put the emphasis on the cut and details. Especially if you are in the business environment. Please enjoy the photos of this look below.

Truthfully yours,

Vlad
