Recently I have been visiting a beautiful city of Milan. Great city! I was amazed by the amount of style and fashion of the streets and was very excited to visit the flag stores of my favorite brands. But, oh my gosh, was it hot there. The heat was almost unbearable. With that conditions it was very difficult to wear anything, not talking about suit or even pants. Good that I was prepared 🙂 Today I would like to show you one of my favorite outfits for such hot days. Specifically the combination of shorts with linen shirt. This is also one of my favorite outfits to wear during vacation, especially if you want to look dapper, while doing your sightseeing or shopping. Normally I am not the biggest fan of shorts. However, in summer it might be difficult if almost unbearable to wear pants. My choice here would be to stick to classic, well fitted pieces. If you want to stand out, than let those small details make the difference. The ones I am wearing are classic safari shorts. What makes them unique, in my opinion, is that old school look, double pleaded, high waist and I absolutely love that double buttoning at the waist. One of elements to keep in mind is the proper length as well. They should be not too long (not going beyond the knee line) as well as not too short. I hope you get the idea.
While wearing shorts one of my personal rule is to never combine it with the short-sleeved shirt or polo. In my personal opinion, this makes the outfit too sporty and makes you look like typical tourist. Long sleeves either in shirt or polo just give a little bit more sophistication . Therefore, my choice here is obvious. I went with this nice dark blue linen shirt. The linen is the perfect fabric for summer and I absolutely love how this fabric looks in darker colors. Linen is also very breathable and comfortable, especially if you move around a lot. Than this color gives a perfect contrast to the shorts.
Finally, the footwear I chose are the woven dark brown tassel loafers. Where some might think that more casual option might be more appropriate for this kind of outfit, I like how those give a little bit of elegance to the look. Plus they are very comfortable, which is the element you want to look for, especially if walking all day long.
