With today’s post I decided to put together some combination of none standard colors, bordeaux and light grey.
Last weekend I visited Lindau, which is the town in the southern part of Germany, located at Bodensee. This beautiful town was a great location for the shoot as well.
The outfit is quite simple actually. I paired newly acquired light grey double breasted jacket with simple button down casual shirt and bordeaux slacks (which is the part of the suit). The idea here is to show you that you do not need much to bring some colors into your style game and also to show, how simple it actually is to lighten up the whole look. As you know, i am a bit conservative, when it comes to bring bright colors in my outfit. But, from time to time it is good to step out of the box and try out something new. Like the bordeaux suit I featured recently. And, I really like that color. So I tried to implement more of that into my outfits.
The idea behind implementing some colors to your wardrobe is quite easy actually. In my opinion, you need to select one colorful piece you want to highlight and try to keep the rest toned, subtle. You can actually do this with almost everything. It does two things: first it elevates that specific piece, you want to highlight and second, it can even elevate the other contrasting piece of the outfit. Like in my case, I chose those red wine slacks as my color item and kept all the rest in simple, toned colors – white button down shirt and light grey jacket. With that pants are the eye catchers, where the jacket is emphasized even more because of the contrast. Brown woven tassel loafers complete the look.
Hope you enjoyed this combination and try to implement some new colors (from time to time) by yourself as well.
Truthfully yours,
Vlad
